Nestled in a volcanic caldera, this lake is a traditional grazing site for sheep herded from the adjacent village, Sofular. The area still bears traces of its volcanic past, evident in the subtle sulfur aroma and the presence of lava stones dotting the lake's edge. Our cycling adventure begins in Soğanlı, renowned for its unique small churches with charming dome-shaped roofs. We pedal through the picturesque landscapes of Güzelöz, Şahinefendi, Taşkınpınar, and Cemil, eventually passing by the serene Damsa Lake before reaching our destination, Mustafapaşa (Sinassos). Our adventure leads us to a local teahouse in İbrahimpaşa, where the locals gather daily to chat and play games. We then ride through quiet backstreets to reach Ortahisar, distinguished by its striking large rock hill, also known as the fortress. Here, we savor a lunch with Turkish Pide before taking in the breathtaking panoramic views behind the town.
